My Love of Keurig

I like to drink coffee in the mornings.  During the week, I grab a cup at work.  But, on the weekends, I'm the only one at home who drinks it.  It's just not worth the mess and clean up of brewing a full pot of coffee for just me.  So, I got a Keurig!!  OMG, it's the best thing ever!  It's so easy and fun to use.  I got a bunch of different types of coffees and I love to try them all out.  If you drink coffee and you don't have a Keurig you need to get one.  It will change your life!

Football Fun

We have been anxiously awaiting the start of college football season.  Our house is split between Baylor Bears and Texas A&M Aggies.

Uncle Tony, Michael, Jesse and Grandpa enjoy a little football and catch in the back yard.

Future QB?

Or kicker?

I have to include Tucker.  He's so cute just watching the boys play.

I know he doesn't look very happy here, but he was thrilled to be wearing the Green and Gold!!

Back to School

Michael started Mother's Day Out a couple of weeks ago.  He goes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  I think he will really enjoy it and learn a lot from it.  His teacher is Ms. Alma, and she is so sweet.  I taught Michael to say her name, and he says 'Alma'.  He doesn't have the 'miss' part yet, but that's ok.

Drop off in the mornings is still tricky.  He will walk in all by himself pulling his little backpack and holding your hand (my mom drops him off, so he holds her hand).  Once he gets into the room, he gets a little shy and nervous and will not let go of my mom's hand.  He knows as long as he has her hand, she can't go anywhere :)  He'll walk in, say hi, and play with toys all while holding my mom's hand.  He cries a little when she leaves, but that seems to be normal for all the kids at the beginning of the year.
However, the crying only lasts a short time, and then he forgets about us!  He plays all day, sings songs, dances, colors pictures, and has a great time.  Miss Alma says he is her little helper!  After nap time, he remembers to bring her his blanket and helps the other kids pick up their blankets.  The teachers say he particpates in all the activities, is very talkative, plays with the other kids, and claps when does something good!

When it's time to go home, he is happy as a clam playing in the classroom.  He goes to his backpack, and pulls it out to the car all by himself.  He talks the whole way home telling us about his day (although we can't quite understand what he is saying yet :)

I think he will have a lot of fun in Ms. Alma's class this year!!

Walking in pulling his backpack.

He's such a big boy!

Chatterbox

Michael is a little chatterbox these days. He is picking up new words left and right. We really have to watch what we say :). He loves to talk on the phone too (his toy phone or anything he can hold like a phone)!

Bye bye (he waves when he says this)
Hello and Hi
Mama
Dada
Tucker
Water
Milk
All done
Uh-oh
What do I do
Nana (for banana)
Apple
Hot
Ball
Yes
No
Barney (yes, the purple dinosaur)
Caillou (another one of his favorite shows)
Thank you
Please
Awe man!
Pizza
Night night
All gone
Powder
All better

He also loves to sing. He likes to sing Twinkle Twinkle Litte Star and the ABC song. He doesn't say the words very well, but we can hear the tune. He enjoys the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Pat-a-Cake, and peek-a-boo.  He likes Old McDonald.  He joins in and sings the E-I-E-I-O part.  Whenever he hears music of any kind he starts dancing.

He can also say "ta da".  He stands on top of his school bus, raises his hands in the air, and then says "ta da" really loud!  He will keep saying it until you either say it back or clap your hands for him.  Then he jumps off.  And does it all over again.

His new thing is to say 'uh oh spaghettios".  It sounds more like "uh oh, ba-ge-dee-do", but it's funny. :)

To the Zoo!

Michael had is first visit to the zoo.  It was hotter than Hades, but we all survived and had a great time.  We pulled Michael around the zoo in his wagon, which was stocked with his lunch, snacks, water, and an umbrella to help shade him from the sun.

We saw lions, and tigers, and bears...oh my!  We actually did see all of those animals and much more: elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and a bunch of others that I don't know the names of.  At the end of the day we took a train ride around Herman Park.  It was a lot of fun, and we will definitely be back soon!

Campos Family Fiesta

We had the Campos Family Fiesta at our place!  It was a whole lotta fun, too!  Jesse's dad came in town from Ohio to visit us.  Since he was here, Tony, Aunt Diana, Aunt Tita and Uncle Tomas, Uncle David and Danielle and Junior came to visit.  Tara was also in town and stopped by.

We had food galore...chips, dips, potato salad, bbq chicken, and ribs.  Tomas made the drinks...sangria, pina coladas, margaritas, and of course his world famous mojitos!!!  yum yum yum.

There were a lot of laughs, jokes, and stories to go with all the food too!  It's always a great fun time when the Campos Crew comes together!

At dinner the night before the big 'to-do'
