Michael is a little chatterbox these days. He is picking up new words left and right. We really have to watch what we say :). He loves to talk on the phone too (his toy phone or anything he can hold like a phone)!
Bye bye (he waves when he says this)

He also loves to sing. He likes to sing Twinkle Twinkle Litte Star and the ABC song. He doesn't say the words very well, but we can hear the tune. He enjoys the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Pat-a-Cake, and peek-a-boo. He likes Old McDonald. He joins in and sings the E-I-E-I-O part. Whenever he hears music of any kind he starts dancing.
He can also say "ta da". He stands on top of his school bus, raises his hands in the air, and then says "ta da" really loud! He will keep saying it until you either say it back or clap your hands for him. Then he jumps off. And does it all over again.
His new thing is to say 'uh oh spaghettios". It sounds more like "uh oh, ba-ge-dee-do", but it's funny. :)

To the Zoo!
Michael had is first visit to the zoo. It was hotter than Hades, but we all survived and had a great time. We pulled Michael around the zoo in his wagon, which was stocked with his lunch, snacks, water, and an umbrella to help shade him from the sun.
We saw lions, and tigers, and bears...oh my! We actually did see all of those animals and much more: elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and a bunch of others that I don't know the names of. At the end of the day we took a train ride around Herman Park. It was a lot of fun, and we will definitely be back soon!

Campos Family Fiesta
We had the Campos Family Fiesta at our place! It was a whole lotta fun, too! Jesse's dad came in town from Ohio to visit us. Since he was here, Tony, Aunt Diana, Aunt Tita and Uncle Tomas, Uncle David and Danielle and Junior came to visit. Tara was also in town and stopped by.
We had food galore...chips, dips, potato salad, bbq chicken, and ribs. Tomas made the drinks...sangria, pina coladas, margaritas, and of course his world famous mojitos!!! yum yum yum.
There were a lot of laughs, jokes, and stories to go with all the food too! It's always a great fun time when the Campos Crew comes together!
At dinner the night before the big 'to-do'

The sippy cup down in front is Michael's. I didn't get him in the picture :)
At Kroger to pick up some last minute items. And yes, I took pictures in the middle of Kroger. It's all in good fun :)

Random Cuteness
These are just a few pics I got of Michael. He is always up to something funny. He loves anything silly!
He got a hold of the broom and started sweeping. This is not such a bad thing...especially when he grows taller than the broom. I'd love a little helper!
Sneaky little guy climbed up on the chair and got a hold of my mug.
He wanted a piece of corn on the cob. He chowed down!!
Saturday morning entertainment in the kitchen. He loves to pull out all the pots, pans, bowls, and spoons. Maybe he's a future chef? Or maybe he just likes to make a mess :)

Chuck E. Cheese
Today was Michael's first time to Chuck E. Cheese. We weren't planning on going, it was just a spur-of-the-moment decision. My mom and I were running errands this morning, and Michael was doing pretty good. Then around lunch time, he started to get fussy. It was his lunch time, and he was tired. Not a good combo. My mom and I were hungry too, so we were deciding what to do for lunch. First, we had to figure out where to go. Then the fussier Michael got, we started talking about take-out. We didn't think he'd last through a meal at a restaurant. As I was driving through the parking lot, we spot Chuck E. Cheese. How about pizza?!?! Here was our thought process:
1. Michael has never been in there
2. Pizza sounded good.
3. It would be loud enough with enough activity and new things for him, that maybe we could all have a bite to eat and enjoy ourselves without a toddler melt-down.
SUCCESS!!! He had a blast. He ran all around the place. They have a section just for little ones Michael's size, and it was perfect. He rode a horse, drove a truck, talked on the phone, and slid down the slide countless times. He didn't eat much lunch, but it was fun. We'll definitely be back!

4th of July Weekend
Let's talk about the July 4th weekend. In a nutshell it was great! Super busy, but lots of fun.
Saturday we had a family bbq at our place. My dad cooked a brisket all day on Friday, and it was yummy. We also had a ton of other food like chicken, potato salad, corn on the cob, and I made some fancy patriotic cupcakes. Check out the pics below.
We were lucky that we got to see the fireworks from our backyard that night. Michael slept through the loud bangs and Tucker didn't bark! It was not fun to get up for work the next day.
Speaking of Tucker, here's a shot of the little guy!

Here are some action shots of the afternoon. A good time was had by all!
Chef Ted!
Michael showing off on his school bus.
Grandma's wanted to play too!
Isn't he cute :)
It was a long fun day!!
We did it all over again on Sunday with some friends, but I didn't take any pictures of that.
Monday was the actual 4th. We got up in the morning and went to the local parade. Michael had fun watching the floats and waving at everyone. He really enjoyed the fire trucks and their loud sirens. It was so hot outside, everyone was melting, but that's what is expected in July in Houston!
